The Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) in collaboration with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), organized a training workshop to raise the efficiency of social networking at the level of school administrators of environmental clubs in the city of Aqaba, Jordan, during the period 9-11 March 2014.
More than 30 teachers representing various schools in Aqaba participated in the training sessions which were held in the auditorium of the Aqaba Marine Park, the organization in charge of public awareness in ASEZA. The schools cooperated effectively with the marine park in the implementation of the “School Environmental Clubs” program.The course included lectures and field training on camera and video photography, on photo and video clip editing, and on using photo and video editing software to design awareness messages in a professional manner.
The training will allow the participants to publish professionally on social networking sites thus contributing more effectively to environmental awareness, with an emphasis on the marine environment. The training program also included lectures on the concept of environmental awareness and the best way to use “The Environmental Box for the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden" that was developed by PERSGA as a tool to assist in the management of school environmental clubs.This workshop comes within the framework of the implementation of the regional training program for school environmental clubs in the member countries and as one of the main pillars for the implementation of the regional strategy for environmental education for sustainable development in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
