24/12/2014 Cleanup Campaign in Al-Wajh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

During September of each year, PERSGA celebrates the date of its establishment by organizing different public awareness activities and cleaning campaigns for the public in the coastal cities along the Red Sea & Gulf of Aden.
In 24th November 2014, PERSGA with The Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) organized a festival at Al-Wajh City under the slogan (For marine environment free from solid wastes) for many different audiences and stakeholders.  More than 75 students belonging to The Industrial Technical Institute, Al-Wajh with the participation of high ranking officers from PME (Tabouk Area), Ministry of Higher Education, Coastal Guards, fishermen, and many others.  All the students, wearing PERSGA T-shirts and hats and joining the cleaning campaign.
The celebration included many awareness programs, lectures, workshops and a campaign to clean Al-Wajh’s Beach with the participation of governmental and private sectors. These activities aimed to establish the principle of effective beaches protection and the sustainable uses of the marine resources.At the end of the festival PERSGA and PME officers had honored distinguished students as well as those agencies and persons who helped in the success of these activities.
