06/12/2011 PERSGA Admitted as an Observer in UNFCCC COP/CMP


The UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP) has admitted PERSGA as an Observer Organization during its 17th session in Durban South Africa on 28.11.2011. The UNFCCC COP is the nerve centre of the meeting of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP), which adopts decisions and resolutions on the implementation of the provisions of the protocol.  The negotiation process on Climate change revolves around the sessions of the Conference of the Parties (COP), which meet every year to review the implementation of the convention. The COP adopts decisions and resolutions, published in reports of the COP. Successive decisions taken by the COP make up a detailed set of rules for the practical and effective implementation of the convention      
In accordance with this decision in Durban, South Africa, PERSGA will be represented at the future sessions of COP and CMP as well as their subsidiary bodies in the convention process.
