03/04/2012 Visit of H.E Djibouti Minister to PERSGA

H.E Mr. HASSAN OMAR MOHAMED, the Minister of Environment of Republic of Djibouti accompanied by H.E Mr. DIA AL DIN MAMAKHRAMA Djibouti Ambassador in Riyadh, Visited PERSGA HQ in Jeddah , on Thursday April, 3, 2012. 
His Excellency MOHAMED Hassan Omar discussed with Prof. Ziad H. Abu-Ghararah, PERSGA secretary general the status of the current PERSGA projects and programmes in the member countries as well as the excellent cooperation between the state of Djibouti and PERSGA.  
The meeting was also an opportunity to revise Djibouti key role and contribution in the implementation of marine environment conservation programmes in the region. 

His Excellency the minister expressed his gratitude to the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia for its generous support to PERSGA as a host country, and pointed to the key role played by PERSGA in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
During the meeting His Excellency, signed the regional memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Port State Control in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, which aims at enhancing the safety of the navigation in the Red Sea Thus helping the conservation of the marine environment.  Djibouti became the fourth country in the region to sign this important agreement.
At the end of the meeting, PERSGA secretary expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Environment of Djibouti for his support to PERSGA efforts, in the conservation of the marine environment and the region.
